If you have ever peeled a label from a jar, you will know how difficult and frustrating this can be. The jar can be spotlessly clean, but the label remains as sticky as honey.
An easy way to get rid of the goo from labels is to use cooking oil.
• Take a cotton pad and soak it with cooking oil.
• Let the pad sit for a few minutes so that it absorbs the oil.
• Rub the oiled pad over the sticky patch and leave it for a few minutes.
You will find that once the oil has sunk in, the goo can be easily wiped away.
For removing price tags
One of the easiest ways to remove price tags is to soak a paper towel in warm white wine vinegar. You can also use room-temperature rubbing alcohol. Wipe this over the sticky residue and leave for a few minutes. This will soften the residue and make it easy to scrub away.
Another way to remove those pesky stickers is to soak a rag, cotton wool ball or paper towel in lighter fluid.
If your client has a bottle of very old vodka, you can also use this. Let your rag soak, wipe over the area and leave for at least 15 minutes and wipe off.
Final thoughts
There really is no need to struggle getting sticky labels to come off. Most homes will have at least one or even two ingredients which will make life a lot easier.
