Employed live-in carers

We are actively recruiting for our employed live-in care jobs throughout the SE of England. No previous experience is required as full professional training is provided for free.

Self-employed live-in carers

We are actively recruiting for our self-employed live-in care jobs throughout the UK.

Carers choose to join Mumby’s introductory live-in care agency if they prefer the flexibility and autonomy of being self-employed. Our self-employed carers can choose when and how much they work, the type of care (companionship, dementia care, end of life, post-operative, MS, spinal injury care, etc), and their client and family. They set their rate of pay based on the client’s care demands.

Live-in caregiver jobs offer a lot of flexibility to work and allow you to take time off when you want. You can work just a few weeks a year, at times that fit around your lifestyle or commitments, or for long and established periods. They also have the added benefit of generating a good income with no overheads.

What to expect as a live-in carer

Your role is varied. Every day is different depending on your client’s needs. It includes:

  • Living with your client 24/7 in their home.
  • Providing 1:1 care and support.
  • Typically, looking after one person or sometimes a couple in their own home.
  • Providing personal care and companionship.
  • Managing medical conditions such as dementia, stroke, and Parkinson’s, assisting with appointments, overseeing medication, and providing medical support.
  • Aiding with mobility if clients need assistance getting around their home.
  • Helping around the home with cooking and cleaning to ensure the smooth running of the house.
  • Running errands such as food shopping or picking up prescriptions.
  • Encouraging and supporting daily activities, social events and pastimes.

What do you need to be a live-in care worker?

To be a live-in carer, you need to have:

  • The desire to help and care for people and improve their quality of life.
  • Good English language communication skills and attention to detail for accurate record keeping.
  • A patient, compassionate, positive, and caring nature.
  • The ability to put people at ease and to stay calm under pressure
  • The right to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS checks.
