Live-In Care As a live-in carer you will rarely find two days will ever be the same, and that’s what makes every day interesting and rewarding! To be a live-in-carer you will combine being a carer and a good companion! As this is a very special role, we are looking for special people to do it. It is not easy to define what a ‘typical carer role is like’ is difficult to write down, why is this? as every one of our customers is cared for as an individual and therefore there is no ‘average’ person or day, that is what personal care and support is all about.

What we can tell you is that if you become a ‘Live-In carer’ You will possess the qualities that we are looking for you will never have a more fulfilling role, just to know that the actions that you take allows a person to remain safely in their own home, for as long as it remains safe for them to do so, and retain as much independence as they can for the remaining days of their lives.

What will be expected of our live-in-carers?

Working as a carer you will be supporting our customer with a range of different tasks throughout the day, both within their home and outside of it. As a live-in carer, you may be involved with:

  • Companionship – sharing conversation and spending time together for example:
  • Assisted shopping/social activities
  • Preparing and serving meals.
  • Reading out loud for those who have limited sight
  • Encouraging interaction, undertaking a jigsaw to help with dexterity. And so much more
  • Personal care – assisting with bathing, dressing, and when necessary, continence support
  • Assisting with mobility – some customers need assistance getting around the home
  • Overseeing medication – all according to the customer’s care plan • Household chores – help around the home, such as vacuuming or laundry
  • Running errands – assisting with tasks such as shopping or picking up prescriptions
  • Other medical support – extra training is provided for more complex support needs as well as first aid training

  • All applicants will be required to agree to paying for an Enhanced DBS.
